We give thanks for chairs and tables
And a roof above our heads
For warmth and peace and plumbing
And comfortable beds

We give thanks for
eggs and rice and garlic toast
For fine food
More nutritious than most

We give thanks for the sun that rises every morning
No matter what the weather
We give thanks for each other
And the chance to work together

We give thanks for the gift of this day,
this hour, and this minute
And this food before us
And the life that is within it
